Incisal gap
Space between the tray and tooth edge can indicate that the tooth has not reached the planned stage.
Tracking means the teeth are fitting the positions built into the current aligner. A visible gap, rocking tray or attachment that no longer engages can show that actual movement is behind the digital sequence.
Causes can include inadequate wear, incomplete seating, lost or chipped attachments, difficult movements, inaccurate bite capture, tray distortion or biological response. The remedy may involve more wear, seating aids, attachment replacement, a new scan, revised staging or another appliance.
Check the fit under good light, compare both sides and note when the gap first appeared. Contact the treating office before the scheduled change if the tray does not seat or movement seems stalled.
Space between the tray and tooth edge can indicate that the tooth has not reached the planned stage.
A tray should fit around attachments as designed; a missing attachment can reduce control for the planned movement.
A refinement or new scan is not automatically failure. It can be the appropriate response to real biological feedback.
The Live it stage is where outcomes are protected by routine. Aligners must be worn as directed, removed safely, cleaned sensibly and kept away from heat. Tracking problems, lost trays or unexpected discomfort should be reported rather than hidden until the next scheduled visit.
Advancing through poorly fitting trays compounds the mismatch. Chewies can help seat an aligner when prescribed but cannot make an impossible movement occur or replace clinical review.
Minor differences can occur, but there is no safe universal measurement for self-diagnosis. Send photos or attend an assessment as directed.
The office may prescribe additional wear, but the cause should be considered before simply extending every stage.
They can help seat a tray, but they do not replace attachments, wear, revised planning or professional evaluation.
